Maddox and Gracie's Story
Maddox and Gracie met in middle schoo. They sat next to each other in Mrs. Roudabush’s sixth-grade math class and instantly became close friends. They eventually started a very middle-school version of dating. Maddox and Gracie would go on “dates” supervised by their parents and would jump on the trampoline after school. Though their relationship came to an end, they were always friendly in high school and around the same groups of people.
Maddox and Gracie had not seen each other since high school, but things changed in the summer of 2024. Maddox and Gracie re-met while working at a camp. They were both hired as counselors at Deer Run, a christian camp where they began seriously dating again.
After a long year of long distance, Maddox had a plan to propose. On October 10, without Gracie knowing, Maddox traveled from Vermont to Tennessee. The journey came with its challenges, including a 12-hour flight delay followed by another delay. Maddox had to stay the night in Boston, but he eventually made it. Gracie had no idea maddox was coming, and thought her and her roommates were going to do a photoshoot together. Gracie was completely surprised to see Maddox waiting for her as she arrived at Morris Vineyard.
